If you have recently moved your website to WebVault's hosting service, you will need to update your domain's DNS records to ensure your website resolves correctly to your new server. This guide will walk you through the process of updating your DNS records to point to the appropriate WebVault web server.
If your domain is registered with WebVault and has DNS hosting enabled, you can manage your DNS records through the WebVault Toolbox - After logging in, click on the DNS tab to manage your records.
If your domain is hosted with a third-party DNS provider, log in to their control panel and navigate to the DNS Settings, DNS Management, or Zone Editor section.
If you are unsure who manages your DNS hosting, WebVault offers Free DNS hosting with all website hosting packages. Contact WebVault support if you would like us to migrate your DNS hosting and you can manage your records and content all in the one place.
WebVault offers multiple hosting servers. Use the correct server details based on your hosting plan:
A @ 43.245.177.145
AAAA @ 2001:DF0:26B:10::505A @ 43.245.177.150
AAAA @ 2001:DF0:26B:10::510A @ 43.245.177.100Ensure your www subdomain points to your root domain using a CNAME record:
CNAME www @Locate your existing A, AAAA, and CNAME records and update them as listed above.
TTL determines how long DNS records are cached before updating. A lower TTL (e.g., 300 seconds) can speed up propagation if you need to change the record later, while a higher TTL (e.g., 86400 seconds) reduces DNS queries. If unsure, set it to 3600 (1 hour).
After updating your DNS records, save the changes. These updates typically take between 1 to 24 hours to propagate across the internet.
You can verify that your new DNS settings are active by using MX Toolbox DNS Lookup.
Enter your root domain (yourdomain.com.au) and ensure the A and AAAA records match your WebVault server settings.
Enter www.yourdomain.com.au and check that the record type is CNAME and the canonical name matches your root domain.
