How to Conduct a Webvault Internet Speed Test

Creation date: 4/02/2025 1:32 AM    Updated: 4/02/2025 1:35 AM

Step 1: Open the Webvault Speed Test Page

To test your internet speed, open a web browser and go to:

http://speedtest.perth.webvault.com.au

Important: Do not use https://; the test must be run using http:// for accurate results.

Step 2: Use a Cabled Internet Connection (Recommended)

For the most accurate results, conduct the test from a computer that is directly connected to your modem or router via an Ethernet cable. Testing over WiFi may not provide an accurate representation of your actual internet speed due to wireless interference and other factors.

If you are troubleshooting WiFi issues, first run the test on a wired connection and then compare it with the WiFi test results.

Step 3: Start the Speed Test

Once the speed test page is open, click the Start button to begin the test. The test will measure the following metrics:

  • Download Speed – The rate at which data is received from the internet.

  • Upload Speed – The rate at which data is sent to the internet.

  • Ping (Latency) – The time it takes for a small packet of data to travel to the server and back (measured in milliseconds).

  • Jitter – The variation in latency, which can affect real-time applications like video calls and gaming.

Step 4: Understanding the Results

The Webvault speed test provides the most accurate measurement of your line speed because it is hosted on the Webvault network. This eliminates upstream network congestion and external factors that could skew test results. Other online speed tests may be affected by network congestion from different providers, making them less reliable.

Step 5: Taking a Screenshot of the Results

Once the test is complete, take a screenshot of your results using the following steps:

Windows 10 & 11:

  1. Press Windows + Shift + S to open the snipping tool.

  2. Select the area of the screen that contains the speed test results.

  3. Save the screenshot to your computer.

Step 6: Perform Basic Troubleshooting Before Contacting Support

Before reaching out to Webvault, ensure that your network is not congested by other users or background activities such as:

  • Large file downloads or uploads (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox syncs)

  • Streaming videos on YouTube or social media platforms

  • Other users in your office consuming bandwidth

It is also recommended to perform consecutive tests and test on multiple computers (if available) to ensure consistency in results.

Step 7: Submitting Your Results to Webvault Support

If you believe your speed test results are inaccurate or not in line with your internet specifications, send the screenshot to Webvault Support by:

When submitting your results, please include:

  • Your site address and service reference.
