Network Time Protocol (NTP) is essential for keeping your devices' clocks accurate. It ensures precise time synchronization across your network, which is crucial for security, logging, and many online services.
NTP (Network Time Protocol) is a system used to synchronize the clocks of computers, routers, and other network devices. It works by connecting to an NTP server, which provides the correct time based on global atomic clocks.
Webvault provides a reliable NTP service to help customers maintain accurate time settings. Your device must be connected to a Webvault internet service. To ensure proper synchronization, always use the hostname provided below rather than the direct IP addresses:
ntp.webvault.com.auIPv4 Addresses
43.245.178.3
43.245.178.2
IPv6 Addresses
2001:df0:26b::301
2001:df0:26b::302
To manually configure your router to use Webvault’s NTP service:
Log in to your router’s web interface.
Navigate to Time Settings or NTP Settings.
Enter the hostname: ntp.webvault.com.au as the primary NTP server.
Save and apply the settings.
If you are using a Cisco IOS router, follow these steps to configure NTP:
Access the router’s CLI via SSH or console.
Enter privileged EXEC mode:
enableEnter global configuration mode:
configure terminalSet the NTP server:
ntp server ntp.webvault.com.au preferVerify the NTP configuration:
show ntp statusSave the configuration:
write memoryIf your device is unable to synchronize time:
Ensure your internet connection is active.
Try restarting your router.
If needed, use the provided IPv4 or IPv6 addresses directly for testing.
Check your firewall settings to allow NTP traffic (port 123/UDP).
By using Webvault’s NTP service, you can ensure accurate and reliable time synchronization across all your devices. If you encounter any issues, please contact Webvault support for assistance.
