When hosting your website with Webvault, you can upload your website files using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). This guide will walk you through using FileZilla, a popular FTP client, to upload your files quickly and efficiently.

Step 1: Download and Install FileZilla

Before you begin, download and install FileZilla from the official website:

Follow the installation instructions for your operating system.

Step 2: Connect to Your Webvault FTP Server

  1. Open FileZilla.

  2. Enter your FTP login details in the Quickconnect bar at the top:

    • FTP Server:<webserver hostname provided by Webvault> (e.g., blinix.websiteservers.com.au)

    • Username: your_username

    • Password: your_password

    • Port: Leave blank or use 21 for standard FTP.

  3. Click Quickconnect.

  4. Once connected, you will see your local files on the left and the server files on the right.

Step 3: Upload Your Website Files

For cPanel Hosting Customers

If your website is hosted on cPanel, upload your public website files to the \public_html folder.

To upload files:

  1. Navigate to the \public_html folder.

  2. Select the website files from your local machine (left panel).

  3. Drag and drop the files into the right panel (server side).

  4. Wait for the transfer to complete.

For Windows Hosting (IIS Hosting) Customers

If your website is hosted on a Windows Server (IIS hosting), you must upload your public website files to the \site folder.

To upload files:

  1. Navigate to the \site folder.

  2. Select the website files from your local machine (left panel).

  3. Drag and drop the files into the right panel (server side).

  4. Wait for the transfer to complete.

Step 4: Verify Your Website Upload

After uploading, test your website by opening your domain in a browser. If the homepage does not load correctly, ensure that you have an index page uploaded.

  • Connection Timeout: Ensure you have an active internet connection and that your firewall or antivirus is not blocking FTP.

  • Permission Issues: If you cannot upload, ensure you have the correct write permissions or contact Webvault support.
